Electric motors & drive systems

The choice of electric motor is not always obvious. Before selecting which components to include in a drive system, parameters like commutation technology, direction, speed, position, torque and acceleration should be considered. With "drive system" we mean a drive (motor) together with one or more components (accessories), such as gearboxes, encoders, brakes or drive electronics.
